GM offered the 6.2L diesel from 1982 to 1993. The TH 400 (3L80) was used until 1991. In 1994 the displacement was increased to 6.5L and a turbo was added. The 4L80 was used from 1991 until 2000. The Allison transmission was offered in 2001 along with the 6.6L Duramax diesel.
